Walter Norris und die Kunst der irritierenden Akzentuierung

The pianist Walter Norris has created, in his composition and interpretation of the piece Scrambled an I Got Rhythm contrefact, which in many respects stands out. The submitted study of Scrambled is concerned with that aspect of Norris' musical vocabulary, in which disorientating rhythmic-articulatory peculiarities are embraced (disorientating / irritating articulation). It can be shown in what way Norris moves between both poles of his musical language, when he on the one hand deprives the listener of informative clues and on the other gives the listener new misleading clues.
