Die Rolle der Schallplatte im Jazz
The complexity of record phenomena is examined in three individual analyses. Diverse auxiliary disciplines and methods are applied in order to determine the record's role in Jazz:
- The consequences resulting from a respective technical standing in the process of creating music are historically worked out, and illustrated accordingly with music analyses.
- European scores and Jazz records are critically compared with one another, in respect to their originality and binding character.
- The socio-psychological, economic and historical aspects of the Jazz record, as a means of mass communication, are expounded and their mutual dependence is analysed.
